IDE Solutions is a Managed Service Provider (MSP) based in Krombach, Bavaria, specialising in Microsoft cloud infrastructure for small and medium-sized businesses across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. We focus on the part of the market that most IT providers treat as an afterthought: businesses with 5 to 100 employees that need proper IT without an proper IT department.

IDE Solutions holds a Microsoft Cloud Solution Provider (CSP) authorisation, which allows us to provision, manage, and bill Microsoft 365 and Azure subscriptions directly on behalf of clients — without routing through a third-party distributor. This matters for licensing cost and for support: when something breaks, there is one point of contact, not three.

What we do and who we do it for

IDE Solutions manages IT infrastructure for businesses that have outgrown ad-hoc support but are not large enough to justify an internal IT team. The typical client has between 10 and 80 employees, runs Microsoft 365 for their users, and either already uses Azure for some workloads or is planning to move there. They have had an IT support relationship in the past that was reactive — someone who came in when things broke — and they want something different.

Our service model is based on fixed monthly pricing. Clients pay a defined amount each month and know exactly what is covered: monitoring, patch management, Microsoft 365 administration, security policy enforcement, and a defined response-time SLA for incidents. There are no variable charges for every support ticket and no surprise bills after a difficult month.

Our approach to security

Most small businesses have Microsoft 365 configured the way it shipped — with defaults optimised for ease of use rather than security. Legacy authentication protocols are often still enabled. Multi-factor authentication is not enforced for all users. External sharing in SharePoint is unrestricted. These are not exotic vulnerabilities; they are the standard starting point for most tenants we assess.

Our security work begins with a structured assessment of the current state, produces a Secure Score baseline, and then works through the gaps in order of risk. We do not sell security as a fear exercise. We give clients a before-and-after report with specific numbers so they can see what changed and why it matters.

Every client environment is managed under the Principle of Least Privilege — each person and each service account has exactly the access it needs and nothing more. We do not use shared administrator credentials. We use Privileged Identity Management (PIM) for elevated access that requires justification and logs every action. This is standard practice in larger organisations and it should be standard for companies with 15 employees too.

Working with us

New engagements begin with a structured onboarding: we document your environment, establish monitoring and alerting, and identify the most critical gaps to address in the first 30 days. Clients get a named contact — not a ticket queue — and access to a shared IT documentation platform where everything about your environment is recorded and maintained.

We do not require long-term contracts. Month-to-month agreements are available for all service tiers. Our view is that clients should stay because the service is good, not because the contract makes leaving difficult.
